SWISS DELEGATES’ VISIT TO GPI BENIN
Girls’ Power Initiative (GPI) Nigeria played host to Swiss delegates at her Benin City office.
The visit which held on the 26th of June saw representatives of the Swiss State Secretariat for Migration (SEM), Switzerland Embassy in Nigeria and GIZ. In the delegation were SEM Policy Advisor and Migration Specialist Gisela Schluep and Ramiro Guderzo, Migration Adviser at the Embassy of Switzerland in Nigeria, Manuel Muehlebach and GIZ Project Coordinator, Rachel Schipper. They were received by GPI State Coordinator; May Ekido, the Chairperson of the Steering Committee for the Swiss funded Integrated Action Project, Rose Imonikhe; Director of Orientation, Edo State Ministry of Communication and Orientation and other staff of GPI.Ramiro Guderzo while stating the purpose of the visit said it became necessary to physically visit GPI having heard and read so much about the organization and the work she does. He further said they were in Nigeria to familiarize with organizations implementing Swiss assisted projects and to know how far the projects have gone.Members of staff gave a quick overview of GPI activities while the Project Officer for the Swiss funded Integrated Action to Reduce Human Trafficking and Re-trafficking in Edo State project, Anderson Aisagbonbuomwan did a presentation on the project, highlighting project activities from March to June, 2022, its successes, challenges and ways forward.
