Girls’ Power Initiative (GPI) Nigeria is a leading feminist organization committed to empowering children and young females with accurate information and skills for social action. Founded in 1993, GPI aims to transform patriarchal values in Nigeria through its sustainable youth development programs.Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Keeping: Prepare and maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date financial records, including general ledgers, journals, and subsidiary ledgers.
- Financial Reporting: Generate comprehensive financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and identifying any discrepancies.
- Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, tracking expenditures against approved allocations and identifying variances.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, assess financial performance, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and prepare tax returns as required.
- Strong Accounting Skills: Demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and tax regulations.
- Attention to Detail: Maintain accuracy and precision in all financial tasks, ensuring that records are complete and error-free.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make informed recommendations.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Effectively address financial challenges and find solutions to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.
- Ethical Conduct: Adhere to the highest ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
- Minimum of OND in Accounting or Finance. Higher qualification will be an added advantage 2 years of relevant experience in accounting. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) will be an added advantage. Strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
